On Nov 21st 2005,with a high-power diesel engine 7S60MC delivered to Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., Hudong Heavy Machinery Co has manufactured 62 main engines this year, amounting one million horsepower, and becoming the first marine main engine manufacturer with an annual output of one million horsepower in China. As estimated, Hudong Heavy Machinery Co. will accomplish a goal of finishing 70 main engines this year, which will be over accumulated 1.1 million horsepower.

According to statistic, the total amount of marine diesel engines built by Hudong Heavy Machinery Co. has occupied 60% of China main engines. In recent years, Hudong has kept an annual increasing amount of 200 thousand horsepower. In year 2003, it had produced 750 thousand horsepower of diesel engines, 950 thousand horsepower in 2004 and this year will be over 1.1 million horsepower.
