| Two
16,500-m3 LPG/NH3/VCM carriers M/T JOHANN SCHULTE and
WILHELM SCHULTE were constructed by Jiangnan Shipyard (Group)
Co., Ltd. and delivered to BERNHARD SCHULTE respectively in February
and July of 1998. The basic design was developed by Jiangnan Shipyard
in Cooperation with MARIC.

Features
1.The
vessel has three "C" type independent bilobed cargo
tanks, IMO classified type 2G maximum pressure of 6.0 bar G, for
carrying liquefied gases as commercial propane, anhydrous ammonia,
propylene, butylene, butadience and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM).
2.Three
grades of cargoes can be loaded in different cargo tanks simultaneously.
3.Two
electric-motor-driven deepwell pumps (250m3/h each)are
provided for each of the cargo tanks. Two booster pumps (450m3/h
each) and one combined type cargo heater/vaporizer are provided
on the upper deck to transfer the liquefied gases to the storage
tanks on shore.
4.Two
deck tanks (125m3 each) are provided for changeover
of cargoes.
5.An
inert gas generator is provided to produce dry inert gas or dry
air. The generator is used for inerting and dehydration of the
cargo system as well as the interbarrier spaces during voyage.
6.An
independent cargo control and monitoring system is provided.All
the cargo pumps, reliquefaction plants, ballast pumps, Cargo &
ballast valves, etc. are remotely controlled from the main swithboard,
and monitored on the CRTs in the cargo control room.
7.A
bow thruster with a 4-blade controllable pitch propeller is provided
and is driven by acelectric motor.
8.The
steering gear is of ram-cylinder-type with two power units.
