Five 13,700-dwt product oil/chemical tankers were built by Jiangnan Shipyard(Group) Co., Ltd. and delivered to STENERSEN AS (Norway) and EKTANK AB (Sweden) respectively in 1998 and 1999. Additional two 13,700-dwt product/chemical tankers for EKTANK AB (Sweden) are now under construction and the scheduled delivery will be in the first half of 2003.

Features

1.The vessel is designed to carry product oil incl. crude oil, MTBE, caustic soda solution of 50% concentration, UAN, BTX and Molasses, etc.

2.The vessel is an ice-strengthened, single-decked, single-screw motor ship with machinery and accommodation located aft and equipped withan electric-motor-driven retractable azimuth/transverse tunnel bow thruster of 600kw to facilitate manenvering for berthing/unberthing.

3.The cargo space is of double-hull construction in compliance with the requirements of IMO type 2 ship of IBC code and also for oil tankers of MARPOL regulations.

4.The vessel has six pairs of cargo tanks and two slop tanks with longitudinal centerline bulkhead to maintain good stability during loading/unloading

5.The designed cargo hold structures can make the tanks to be cleaned easily.

6.Eight grades of cargo can be loaded/unloaded simultaneously and each tank to be provided with a hydraulic-driven and submerged pump.

7.The cargo tanks are coated with phenolic epoxy or inorganic zinc paint for carrying various kinds of liquid cargo.

8.Two 2,900kw oil-fired thermal oil heaters and one exhaust thermal oil heater to be provided for general heating purpose.

9.The long-stroke, low-revolution and fuel-efficient main engine 6S42MC drives a controllable-pitch propeller for better propulsive efficientcy.
